The results of the 2008 Midwest Select Sale can now be viewed under the "2008 Sale Report" link to the left.

The Midwest Select Sale is held indoors at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin & attracts buyers & sellers from across the US Mid-West, as well as Canada. Consignment forms are available under the Consignment Link.

This sale is restricted to purebred and registered draft horses, primarily Belgians & Percherons, although the occasional Clydesdale does enter the sale ring. Many of these horses are Amish owned and trained.

The 1st day of the sale is called a "pre-view" where the horses are driven and displayed for potential buyers, allowing them time to see the animals in action and do some side by side comparison to other consignments. Deals cannot be made on the horses on that day, they are sold at auction on the second day of the sale only.

Moving to the Alliant Energy Center allows for a March sale date, room for expansion, more room for vendors, and plenty of parking. The barns and arena are all heated and very nice.

The Center can accomodate up to 75 vendor booths, both inside and out. Vendors which would benefit would be: tack shops, harness shops, horse trailer sales, barn equipment, fencing, feed dealers, draft horse publications, breed associations, just to name a few. If you know of anyone, or are interested yourself, please contact Randy.

We are going to expand our auction clerking and managing services. If you have been thinking about a sale on the farm, let me know. I will be very competitive on rates and you can have the auctioneer of your choice.

Prior to the sale, a catalogue can be obtained by mailing $4.00 (US) to Randy at the mailing address above. Let my large mailing list of horse enthusiasts work for you!

The "early listings" page is a sampling of what will be available at the upcoming sales. If you are considering entering items, contact us about putting them on our early listings webpage. This will allow potential buyers to have a look at your listing online, before the sale - attracting more buyers to the sale itself for your item!

As a buyer, should you be looking for anything in particular we can put your request on our early orders page. This may encourage individuals who have what you want to enter it into to the sale.

In either case, please email Randy for more information about this free service.

If you want to be on our mailing list send your information to Newsletter Signup.

If you have an item you want sold, but not through the sale, send the information to us, with a photo, and we'll list it for sale on the appropriate section of this website.

Send us an e-mail with anything you possibly want us to take care of for you, and we will provide you with the best service Midwest Select Sale has to offer.
